Garlic Rice Recipe


Here’s a great healthy side dish.


Ingredients:

1 Cup Basmati Rice

3 Tbsp. Butter Or Margarine

4 Garlic Cloves, minced

1/4 tsp. Ground Turmeric

1/8 tsp. Sugar

1/2 tsp. Garlic Salt

2 Cups Hot Water

2 Tbsp. Soy Sauce


Directions:

Wash the rice until the water runs clear, then soak the rice for 30 minutes.  Use a bamboo steamer, and steam the rice for 15 minutes.


In a large skillet that has a cover, melt the butter on low medium heat, and stir-fry the garlic until it’s golden brown.  Add the turmeric, sugar, and garlic salt until the sugar melts.  Add the rice and stir-fry for 2 to 3 minutes.  Add the hot water and bring it to a boil, then reduce the heat and cover and let simmer for 8 to 10 minutes.  Remove from the heat and let it steam cook for 10 to 15 more minutes.
